Once you have decided if your going to cruise to the Caribbean or fly to a particular island, you need to think about the activities you plan to enjoy during your vacation. If you cruise, you can get a list of shore excursions from the cruise line. You can pay for these in advance or you can for them onboard ship. Many excursions book quickly.

If you decide to fly to a particular island, you should do a little research. Look at what is offered at your all-inclusive resort and determine if you want to add an activity. You can schedule some activities and leave some days free in case you find something really unique and fun to do.

No matter how much you plan, there are some things you cannot avoid. For example, if it rains and your plan was to lie on the beach all day, you will want to have an alternative activity to pursue.

There are other things that can go wrong when you book your vacation. Sometimes a hotel will accidentally overbook its rooms. You should be prepared with a list of alternative hotels to call.
