Planning for your next
vacation . . . make it a Caribbean getaway.
The decision you have to make is whether you
are going to plan and book it yourself or if you are going to
use the services of a travel agent.
You can book an all-inclusive package which
will include your flight and hotel. Travel agents who
specialize in Caribbean vacations are good at putting packages
together that will suit your needs. This will include your
flights and hotels, transfers to and from the airport. If the
package is a tour, it will also include a local representative.
These specialty tours are usually a bargain offered at special
rates with a number of features. You have to make your
reservations early because tours generally fill up quickly.
There is a difference between a tour operator
and a travel agent. The tour operator owns the tour business
that provides the service. They contract with the
airlines, hotels, and provide local tour
representatives. The travel agent sells the tour to
the consumer.
You may feel more secure with a tour than with
independent travel. Tour operators generally are legally bound
to take care of you from the moment of your departure until you
return home. Some are bonded for financial security. In the
event of a natural disaster, failure of an airline, or a
dispute with one of your holiday providers, you only have to
deal with the tour operator.
If you are adventurous, you may opt for
independent travel. You have the freedom to choose your own
trip or change it if you decide to. You can book your Caribbean
vacation on the Internet.
There are a number of travel agencies online.
Also, you have the option of many more hotels than a tour
brochure may provide. Some hotels are not featured in brochures
and have to be booked independently.
If you have air miles and want to use them,
most Caribbean vacation travel packages may not allow you to
use them. If you book your travel independently, you can use
your air miles.
Decide on which option is best for you and make
it a memorable vacation on a beautiful
Caribbean island.
